The book «PARTISAN. Kultur_Macht_Belarus» is published in Germany

The special book«PARTISAN. Kultur_Macht_Belarus» («PARTISAN. Culture_Makes_Belarus») written by Artur Klinau is published  in the German publishing edition.fotoTAPETA (Berlin). The topic of the book is the activity of «pARTisan» project as a strategy of cultural resistance.

Partisan, says Artur Klinau, is a not only heroic figure with a gun in his hand. «It’s also a diagnostics. Pathological state of consciousness with the deepest fears because of a historical trauma». Partisan is a typical figure for Belarus.

Today however except for the historical meaning of the guerrillas thanks to the pARTisan project by Klinau it’s got another meaning — as a cultural hero, an artistic strategy that could be a way to go out from the deep crisis of the country.

The book also includes articles by Valancin Akudović, Almira Usmanava, Juras Barysiević, Dzmitry Strocau, Alaksandr Suśkou, Siarhiej Dubaviec, Volha Śparaha, Ben Cope, Taciana Arcimović which were printed in «pARTisan» in different years of the activity.

Official presentation of the edition will be held in the framework of the BookFair in Leipzig on March 12.

At the moment the edition.fotoTAPETA prepared the edition of «Majdan! Ukraine, Europe», which are included texts by Anastasija Afanasjewa, Juri Andruchowytsch, Yevgenia Belorusets, Martin Pollack, Andrij Portnov, Taras Prochasko, Timothy Snyder, Olexandr Stukalo, Natalia Yeryomenko, Serhij Zhadan and others.

«There are the voices of Ukrainian writers, poets and intellectuals in this book. Besides the historical process describe the authors from another countries.

The book is a snapshot of the uprising. It is about what is happening here and now».
