[Apollo and Dionysus at the sunset]

Maxim Wakultschik, Janna Grak, Andrei Dureika, Andrei Loginov, Maxim Tyminko about the collaborative projects: A series of Skype chats which took place from June to August, 2011 among Maxim Wakultschik, Janna Grak, Andrei Dureika, Andrei Loginov, Maxim Tyminko, Sergei Kiryushchenko, Tamara Sokolova, Kiril Khlopov in Amsterdam, Berlin and Dusseldorf.

The reason was the proposal of “pARTisan” to publish Revision Group album / Your Favorites in a series of anthology of Belarusian contemporary art “pARTisan’s Collection”. But the author’s concept of the album — a book in the form of talks – didn’t meet the requirements of the Collection’s common concept. That’s why “pARTisan” publishes shorter version of these talks in a special issue.

‘Speaking about the project, we should use the concept of building or modelling than transformation. There are no person, rather a cover, a mask, and images, artistic and artificial projections. In accordance with our specific subject of “hairy”, we have developed images of specific characters in the associative and physiognomic relation and started modelling. Initially, all images were grouped on the basis of belonging to a figurative spatial model. Then, finding subordination within the categories, we assigned each of our heroes a special place in the hierarchy of the characters in a particular space group. For each type of characters we have developed a model of image execution, his lighting and shooting. For example, for a “central projection” we shot each fragment in crisscross way, from left to right and bottom-up. After mix of elements, as it were, we “imprisoned” the portraits, not only to underline and intensify the perspective, but also subordinated it essentially. While distancing from the centre, each element, respectively, is revived changing its shape and scale. From a series of portraits three-dimensional models are built. Linked together, they represent a panoramic view of the simultaneous projection of different visions. As a schizoid maze of multi-faceted reflections’.
