‘King Stakh’s Wild Hunt’ in English

 

The historical thrillers King Stakh’s Wild Hunt by famous Belarusian writer and poet Uładzimir Karatkević was published in English by  ‘Glagoslav Publications’.

‘King Stakh’s Wild Hunt is a suspense mystery thriller, set against a historical background, — says the annotation. — The story kicks off from the book’s first pages, throwing the reader into the atmosphere of a dark intense fear before the inevitable. It doesn’t take long for the reader to begin anxiously accompanying Belaretsky on the swamps, meeting strange personae here and there, all of them either mad or scared, or hiding something important, and at times simply miserable’.

The book is free on hard and paper version.

Uładzimir Karatkević (1930-1984) was known as the creator of the Belorussian historical novel. Once anthologies of his poetry are published, he takes to prose, creating several works of classic Belarusian literature. His works are almost entirely dedicated to the history of the Belarusian people, specifically centered on the January Uprising of 1863-1965 and the Great Patriotic War.

Karatkević is actively involved in historical research and archeological excavations that reflects in his drive to seek the historical truth in his literary works. His characters are always vivacious and bright, and one of the most famous metaphors about Belarus, ‘the land under white wings’, belongs to him.
